Awareness and respect with the environment encouraged Móveis Katzer to invest in the preservation of native forests, having among its priorities the permanent conservation of these areas, besides protecting the forest, springs and wildlife of the place.

The planting of renewable wood is the alternative to supply its raw material needs, with timber such as Eucalyptus and Pinus in its planted areas, duly regularized and designed by professionals responsible and qualified to avoid impacting the environment.

In addition to its concern for the conservation of forests and the use of renewable raw materials, Móveis Katzer Ltda maintains a monitoring and awareness program for the use of electricity. This program has as main objectives the elimination of losses and the rational use of natural resources and electric energy. We seek to make our employees aware that they take preventive actions to save natural resources both in the workplace and in their homes.

FSC - FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL®

Móveis Katzer Ltda has the FSC® Chain of Custody certificate.
In this way Móveis Katzer can provide its customers with products with the FSC® seal, under registration IMA-COC-004529

What is FSC®?

FSC is a certification that certifies good forest management and chain of custody certification guarantees the origin of the wood. It is an acronym in English of the Forest Stewardship Council®, an international organization created to guarantee the good use of the forests of the world.

FSC® determines rules for forest raw materials (e.g. wood) to be removed through good management, which guarantees environmental conservation and social benefits.

These rules are called PRINCIPLES AND CRITERIA and were made with the participation of society, environmental organizations, and workers' and business representatives.

The Seal

Factories that buy certified wood to make their furniture can also sell their products with the FSC® SEAL. This is called CUSTODY CHAIN ​​certification.

Companies that comply with these rules receive the FSC® SEAL.

The use of the seal is seriously controlled and the evaluation does not end with the receipt of the certificate. An audit is conducted throughout the year to verify that all procedures are in compliance with the principles of certification.    

The good management of forests respects the production capacity of nature, conserving water and soil and maintaining the best condition for the life of animals and plants that live and reproduce in these environments.

OTHER CERTIFICATIONS

IWAY

Móveis Katzer Ltda provides products to the IKEA customer, currently the largest furniture retailer in the world. IKEA requires its suppliers to comply with a code of conduct for their workers, especially in the areas of safety at work, respect for people of all ages and the environment. This set of standards that specifies the requirements that IKEA requires is called IWAY (The IKEA Way on Purchasing Products, Materials and Services). IWAY does not condone child labor and abusive work, and strives for safety, good working conditions, compliance with local laws, care for the use of chemicals and more. IKEA employees are often with suppliers to ensure that requirements are met. Giving more responsibility to suppliers is a way to motivate and support them.

The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is an important initiative driven by companies committed to improving working conditions in the global supply chain. BSCI recognizes the SA8000 standard as its best practice regarding social management systems. Independent third-party audit firms that are accredited by the organization Social Accountability International (SAI) help ensure high quality audits.
